A Wescott Pergola Garden Fountain is Assembled
Frank Lloyd Wright Fountains are created from the Frank Lloyd Wright Reproductions of Cast Stone Garden Planters. Frank Lloyd Wright designed and created many stone garden planters throughout his very long and industrious career. The cast stone process used for these creations adhere to strict quality controls set forth mainly by the Cast Stone Institute. The garden fountains produced in Seattle, Washington are superior to ordinary poured concrete. They will last for decades. The outdoor water fountains are sealed with a proprietary material to ensure excellent conditions for the cast stone to be used as a garden fountain.
Part of the cast stone reproduction design is to determine which parts of the garden planter need to be produced separately. In this video you can see the artisans placing the top portion of a Westcott Pergola Vase on top of its base or the main piece of the stone planter. The result is a stunning recreation of the original Wescott Pergola Vase. Three spillways can be seen on one side of the garden fountain. This is where water will pour into the basin of a fountain. The separate sections of the garden fountain are then disassembled and wrapped with extreme care and crated for shipment.
"The finest workers in stone are not copper or steel tools, but the gentle touches of air and water working at their leisure with a liberal allowance of time"
